Tennessee board approves $106 million renovations for Neyland Stadium

One of the largest stadiums in the SEC is due for an upgrade, and it’s about to get it. Tennessee’s Board of Trustees have reportedly approved a $106 million renovation to Neyland Stadium, the second-largest stadium in the SEC.

The project will focus more on amenities for fans rather than stadium capacity. Enhancements such as improved concessions, additional bathrooms and aisle handrails to keep up with evolving standards around the nation as the bulk of this renovation project.

Neyland Stadium was most recently renovated in 2010, at a cost of $83 million. The renovation at the time included construction of the West Club Seats and improvements to the Executive Suites and press box among other upgrades around the stadium.

Neyland Stadium has a current seating capacity of 102,455, officially as of 2010. Texas A&M is home to the largest stadium in the SEC, while the top three stadiums in capacity reside in the Big Ten (Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State).
