And now we come to Reason No. 1,478 why Jim Harbaugh‘s life is more interesting than mine, yours and just about everybody else.
With Michigan on a bye this weekend, the Wolverines head coach is ramping up his football program’s in-season recruiting efforts with a trip to the West Coast. Specifically, Harbaugh was in attendance at Antioch (Calif.) High School to take in the Friday night game of five-star 2017 running back Najee Harris.
While there, Harbaugh was afforded the opportunity to announce Harris’ high school’s homecoming queen. And, not surprisingly, the coach took full advantage of the opportunity.

Harris is currently the top-rated player in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com. The back is also a long-time commit to Alabama, having given the Tide his verbal nearly a year and a half ago. Quite the hubbub was kicked up earlier this month, though, when Harris was quoted by USA Today as saying that “[m]y mind isn’t set on Alabama. I’m not 100 percent set on Alabama.”
According to Harris’ mom, though, her son told her that “I didn’t say anything like that.” That said, Harris still plans on taking official visits to, according to al.com, Alabama, Michigan and either USC or UCLA.
