Those that watched the Netflix show ‘Last Chance U’ know all about defensive lineman Ronald Ollie.
The documentary chronicled the highs and lows of the East Mississippi Community College football program over the course of last season and prominently featured the affable Ollie as he played and tried to get through school. Eventually the big defensive tackle transferred to Nicholls and was back in the spotlight earlier this year when the Colonels nearly upset Georgia.
Ollie apparently isn’t done grabbing attention from the cameras however. Case in point is this play from Nicholls’ 33-30 double-overtime win over Houston Baptist over the weekend where he scooped up a blocked field goal early in the game and returned it a remarkable 84 yards for a touchdown.
Ollie has one sack on the year and is third on the team in tackles for loss as Nicholls has gotten out to a 3-3 start this season. If he keeps making plays like that, he’s bound to find himself in the running for the Piesman Trophy as well.
