Bobo Wilson ‘most likely’ out for extended period for FSU

It appears Florida State will be forced to deal with the absence of one of its most productive wide receivers for the foreseeable future.

Jimbo Fisher confirmed Tuesday that Bobo Wilson “is out... won’t be playing” in the Week 10 game against North Carolina State. The FSU head coach responded “most likely” when asked if the receiver will be out for an extended period.

“I’m not a doctor. I don’t know,” Fisher said according to the Orlando Sentinel. “But that’s what I think, but we’ll wait and see. I’ll put it this way: If I tell you he’s back, he’s back. Okay? Until then, he’s out.”

After the NC State game, FSU will have three games remaining in the regular season -- Boston College (Nov. 11), Syracuse (Nov. 19) and Florida (Nov. 26).

Wilson suffered a foot injury in the Week 7 win over Wake Forest. He was held out of the Clemson loss in Week 9 because of it as well.

Wilson, who is 10th in school history with 133 catches, is currently second on the team with 30 receptions for 390 yards in 2016. His 26 career starts are the most of any current Seminole offensive player.

Offense won’t be the only place where Wilson’s loss is felt as he is tied for fourth in the nation with a 17.2 yards average on nine punt returns. One of those punts he returned 89 yards for a touchdown in the Week 2 win over Charleston Southern, the third-longest in school history and the program’s first of any length since 2012.
