UCLA coach Jim Mora confirms QB Josh Rosen is out for the rest of the season

In not at all surprising news, UCLA head coach Jim Mora confirmed reports that star quarterback Josh Rosen is done for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Mora told Fox Sports the news ahead of the team’s game at Colorado on Thursday night.

Rosen has not played since he was injured during the Bruins’ loss at Arizona State last month and did not travel with the team to Boulder. While there had been reports of nerve issues related to the injury, Mora seemed to caution that was not the case and that a decision on surgery could come shortly.

The news puts an end to a disappointing sophomore season for Rosen after bursting onto the college football scene as a true freshman. He finishes 2016 with just under 2,000 yards passing, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in half a season’s worth of games.

With Rosen sidelined, the reigns of the UCLA offense are fully in the hands of redshirt freshman Mike Fafaul.
