Coaches Poll: Clemson and Michigan swap spots behind No. 1 Alabama

Big Ten and ACC contenders ended up swapping spots in the Amway Coaches Poll this week. No. 2 Clemson moved up a spot after switching spots with Michigan this week. A few spots down the ranking saw No. 5 Ohio State moved up one spot ahead of Louisville, who dropped one spot to make room for the Buckeyes. At the top, however, there was no change as No. 1 Alabama received 62 first-place votes.

Stuck in the middle of the ACC-Big Ten poll swapping is No. 4 Washington, the only team other than Alabama in the top 10 not to move up or down this week. No. 7 Wisconsin moved up one spot while No. 8 Auburn, No. 9 Oklahoma and No. 10 West Virginia each move dup into the top 10 this week following wins. No. 11 Texas A&M fell just four spots following a road loss at Mississippi State. The Aggies are followed by No. 12 Utah, No. 13 North Carolina and No. 14 Penn State. The Nittany Lions had the biggest rise in the coaches poll this week, moving up nine spots following a blowout of Iowa. No. 15 Colorado also had a decent bump, up five spots from last week.

There were some big falls this week too. No. 20 Nebraska tumbled 10 spots following a second-straight loss (the second being a blowout at Ohio State), and No. 25 Baylor hung on to a spot in the ranking following a blowout loss at home to TCU. No. 19 LSU fell five spots after getting blanked at home by Alabama, and No. 21 Western Michigan was a victim of poll shuffling as they fell three spots despite continuing to run an undefeated record in the MAC.
