One LSU Tiger reinstated, another remains suspended

When it comes to crawling out of Ed Orgeron‘s doghouse, LSU football players are batting .500 over the last 24 hours.

The Tigers’ interim head coach confirmed Thursday that Donavaughn Campbell has been reinstated to his football team. The offensive lineman had been suspended following an off-field incident at Georgia Tech late last month.

Campbell was a backup lineman who played sparingly prior to the arrest, and that’s not expected to change much with the reinstatement.

On the opposite end of the discipline spectrum is Jazz Ferguson. The wide receiver was indefinitely suspended a couple of days after Campbell for violating unspecified team rules, and Orgeron stated that that suspension remains in place.

After playing in two games last season, Ferguson has played in six this season. He started one of those contests.

On the year, Ferguson has two catches for 17 yards. The 6-5, 233-pound sophomore serves primarily as a blocker when he is on the field.
