The coaches had some work to do in ordering the one-loss teams in the country with Michigan, Clemson and Washington all joining the group this weekend. There were some noticeable developments in the latest Amway Coaches Poll, which clearly shows no real respect for the Pac-12.
No. 1 Alabama received all 63 first-place votes this week, as expected. The Crimson Tide wrapped up the SEC West on Saturday and look to be on cruise control to the College Football Playoff. Taking advantage of losses by previously undefeated teams were No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Louisville. Each moved up three spots, jumping ahead of No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Clemson (despite Clemson defeating Louisville) and No. 7 Washington. No. 6 Wisconsin moved past the Huskies despite two losses (to Ohio State and Michigan).
No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 9 West Virginia each moved up one spot this week after No. 16 Auburn tumbled out of the top 10. No. 10 Penn State crept into the top 10 after moving up four spots in the coaches poll. Other big winners this week in the poll include No. 14 LSU (up five) and No. 19 USC (up seven). No. 22 Texas A&M and No. 24 North Carolina each were dropped 11 spots and Virginia Tech and Baylor each dropped out of the poll this week. USC jumped in, as did No. 25 San Diego State.
