Report: Two Purdue students accuse four Boilermaker football players of sexual assault

The sexual assault epidemic seemingly spreading across college football has now affected the campus in West Lafayette.

According to the West Lafayette Journal & Courier, two female Purdue students have accused four Boilermaker football players of sexually assaulting them in mid-October. The names of neither the players nor alleged victims were released.

The alleged assaults occurred early on the morning of Oct. 13 at an off-campus residence. The West Lafayette Police Department investigated the allegations and forwarded the case to the county prosecutor.

In a statement, attorney Mario Massillimany, retained by the alleged victims, said that "[s]chool officials must move quickly to hold these players accountable for their actions and show these victims that their voices are being heard.” Massillimany added that at least one other student has come forward claiming to be a victim of rape by Boilermaker football players.

The lawyer is encouraging other victims to come forward “to get the justice they deserve.”

Massillimany also called on the school to expel those allegedly involved. The university is expected to release its own statement on the developments in the coming days.
