Texas has yet to officially announce the hiring of Tom Herman, but the head coach’s now-former employer has publicly addressed the impending development.
In a statement, Houston thanked Herman for what he accomplished during his two years with the program, saying “we are grateful for his contributions” to the Cougars. A national search for a replacement will commence immediately.
Defensive coordinator Todd Orlando, who will be given consideration as Herman’s permanent replacement, has been named interim head coach and will coach the Cougars in their bowl game.Statement from @HunterYurachek on the Houston Football head coach position. #HTownTakeover pic.twitter.com/M45eh085Xt
