As Black Sunday in college football continues, Nebraska head coach Mike Riley has announced he’s parted ways with special teams coordinator Bruce Read.
Read is a long-time special teams mind that worked with Riley at Oregon State before following him to Lincoln.
Nebraska struggled mightily to cover kicks in 2016. The Huskers ranked 106th nationally in opponent punt returns and 91st in opponent kickoff returns.

Nebraska had an outside shot at winning the Big Ten Championship until a 40-10 loss to Iowa on Friday ended those remote hopes.
