Florida’s Mark Thompson runs into second legal issue in two months

At least when it comes to the legal front, it hasn’t been a very good last couple of months for one Florida Gator.

In late October, Mark Thompson was cited for possession of marijuana. A month and a half later, Rivals.com is reporting, the redshirt junior running back is facing one charge of misdemeanor trespassing on posted property.

The charge is related to an incident that happened last Thursday. From the recruiting website:

Per a sworn complaint affidavit, at about 2 p.m. last Thursday, Thompson was located inside the fenced compound at Ultimate Towing. Thompson stated to GPD that he slipped through a gap in the fence in an attempt to contact employees. He then showed the law enforcement officer the gap, which was passable but still clearly meant to bar entry, per court records. The sworn complaint affidavit was filed Monday.

Thompson was suspended for the Georgia game following his first issue. Whether he’ll be suspended for Florida’s bowl game because of the second remains to be seen.

Through the regular season, Thompson was third on the Gators with 295 yards rushing. His two rushing touchdowns were second on the team.
