Video released of Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon punching woman in 2014

Video was released on Friday afternoon of Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a woman in a 2014 incident.

NewsOK has posted the video in question online. Warning, it is extremely graphic and may be unsettling to most.

Mixon was suspended from the football team for a full season after enrolling as a freshman in 2014, and was charged with a misdemeanor as a result of the incident. He was put on probation for a year as a result of a plea deal and sentenced to 100 hours of community service and counseling as well.

The woman who Mixon hit, Amelia Molitor, is suing the tailback in Oklahoma City federal court and suffered from broken bones in her face as a result of the punch. The video was seen by school officials and local media members some time ago but the city of Norman was taken to court to get it publicly released, which eventually happened on Friday.

Mixon has released several statements over the year about the case and is slated to speak to the media ahead of the Sooners’ Sugar Bowl matchup with Auburn. The running back is eligible to declare early for the 2017 NFL Draft, meaning the game could be his final one in college.
