Raekwon McMillan says goodbye to Buckeyes, hello to NFL

Of late its been Ohio State’s secondary that’s seen its share of early NFL attrition. Today, it’s the Buckeyes’ linebacking corps.

On Twitter Wednesday, Raekwon McMillan did the expected and announced that he won’t use his remaining collegiate eligibility, instead opting to throw his name into the April draft pool. The linebacker noted in his statement that his decision comes exactly three years after he “was packing my clothes in my room getting ready to begin my journey at The Ohio State University.”

A five-star 2014 signee, McMillan was the highest-rated recruit in a Buckeyes class that ranked third nationally that year. Coming off a Freshman All-American season, McMillan was a finalist for the Butkus Award and named as a second-team All-American in 2015.

In 2016, McMillan led the Buckeyes in tackles and was a consensus second-team All-American. He was first-team All-Big Ten each of the past two seasons.
