Miami picks up talented CB JUCO transfer Jhavonte Dean

Signing day is off to a pretty positive start for Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes. Miami picked up a key JUCO transfer with cornerback Jhavonte Dean announcing his commitment to the program. Dean announced his decision early Wednesday morning via Twitter.

Dean, a four-star JUCO transfer, will join Miami from Blinn College and will have three years to play two seasons with Miami. The addition of Dean to the secondary should help pad the depth in the defensive secondary for Miami as Miami loses Corn Edler and Adrian Colbert. This also brings Dean closer to home. He is a former standout at South Dade High School.

Other schools that were reportedly in the mix for Dean’s commitment included Kentucky, Arizona State and Cincinnati, according to The Sun Sentinel.
