At first this was interesting, but it is getting rather silly. Now we are talking about the great education of a guy that got his Dr’s degree in Recreational Resource Development. Wow. I have heard of Dr’s of Theology, Juris Prudence, and many other things other than medicine. But that takes the cake. I guess that is important in Florida. But it didn’t seem to help with the football situation. We said we were leaving. No doubt about it as we were going to pay the penalty. After we said that if you had gotten another team to play you what recourse could we have possibly had. Not everyone talks out of the side of their mouth. We were not being held hostage by the Big East. We had to pay and that is that. I’m through with this one. Just got too wierd.

Wilder is a good young man. He doesn’t have any history of criminal activity.

Hopefully for him this will go away, he obviously made a mistake, but it doesn’t seem worthy of two felonies…which is probably won’t.

The SEC’s gentlemen’s agreement is at the heart of my theory. My thought is the SEC will look to add two ACC schools: one from Virginia & one from North Carolina.
As for OU going to the Pac12 w/o UT, didn’t Larry Scott & the TV Network shoot that model down last August?
As for UT going indy, UT showed their hand last summer… They like being connected to surrounding schools.

I agree. Clemson & FSU would love to be a part of the powerful SEC, but Slive proved that going to new markets is the SEC’s model for maximizing revenue.

Drummer where does the sec’s gentlemens agreement about no new in state schools figure into ur opinion. I still feel that yes the big 12 is not going to last. Texas is headed for indy status and the Oklahoma schools will be in the sec. With the other schools scrambling to get into what ever major conference they can get.

Just not true. First off, if Clemson and Florida state go anywhere they will first beg for the SEC who will in time take them. That moves mizzory to the west and complete’s the regions. Second the ACC has a much better basketball conference and does not need to move west. If anything, whats left of the b1g 12 will go east to the ACC. Texas will end up paying for where they end up. Oklahoma and Pokie state will go to the pac 12

No, I’m not a fan of boise in any way, but if they are truly trying to move up the ladder this is not the way. I think a few years of having a good football team doesn’t make you a AQ status. And the schedule they play does not give them the respect that they want. But if they are going to move up and earn that respect, wait for the b1g 12. Neinas is gone and they will be scrambling for anything or anybody to stay alive. This would be a chance to upgrade their competition to a much better level.

The Big12 will be one of the four ‘major’ conferences left standing.

Its the ACC that will be devourered and here’s why: Where will the SEC go to expand from 14 to 16 schools? The SEC just grabbed two to its west. It stands to reason Slive’s next move will be to grab two schools to its east… from the ACC. Once that happens, the Big12 will poach from the ACC starting with FSU & Clemson … These football schools are not happy with the basketball-centric tobacco road decision-makers.

If the Big12 was going to be auctioned-off, it would have happened the first or second time.

Finally, when you talk to UT alum, they will tell you that UT has always looked to Washington DC and they like having a strong connection to our Nation’s capital. They don’t like associating themselves with the West (Pac 12).

I think a lot of this is year’s away, but the ACC is the weakest conference in many many ways.

Schools like Georgia and Florida supported it because they felt the need to be able to offer the student some security and they did not feel that a one year scholarship afforded the student that protection.
Some football power houses felt they didn’t want it, because they felt in their minds that it gave the student a little control over his destiny and security, even though there were ample escape clauses mostly for the school. Most of these same schools, also favored the termination of the one year waiting period when transferring to another school, in the same division.

The (named) big 12 was saved by Neinas. It was not just his brains, but how he was respected by everyone in the NCAA football world. Unless they talk someone into this position with the same respect, they will be done in a short period of time. Bringing on TCU and WVU was a start in the right direction but Texas will eventually ruin what Neinas did. And keep in mind that though their name is known, TCU and WVU are still somewhat small schools and they still need 2 more teams just to have there name correct. Everyone in the conference would jump as fast as they could if the SEC or pac 12 were to call.

fiesty, it sounds like you just listen to the echo chamber too. Obviously Davis ran a lot more than the bubble screen, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that play either, as long as it’s timed and has semi-decent blocking, which Texas didn’t have toward the end. Also, you’re completely making up your statement that VY and Colt ignored his playcalls. That’s the dumbest form of internet nonsense I’ve seen yet.

I hope the Iowa fans like to watch extremely boring football. The bubble screen pass is the only play in his playbook. Ultra conservative is what they’re going to get. The only reason VY and Colt were successful was they ignored most of his play calls. Good grief, I can’t believe he got another coaching job.

The Big 12 is on life support and will not be around in five years. It has become a weak conference that is controlled by one school (UT).

So it looks like Boise State will have one year in the Big East before they lose their AQ status with the BCS. From what I’ve read the Big East will definitely lose their AQ status at the end of the 2013 season.

I’m not saying that they could reschedule when WVU Told them but they could have started looking. And who really didn’t think they would get out? There was no way the big east could make them stay.

If schools oppose multi-year scholarships, I would sure like to know why. I understand that there are always two sides to a story, but I’ve never seen anything of the opposition, just that they exist. I think it would have been a good measure to pass and if 60% isn’t good enough to get it passed, is the NCAA saying that the minority is, overwhelmingly, in control of the majority? This is sports after all, not an amendment to the United State’s Constitution.
