PATS CONTINUE NFL’S RAID OF COLLEGE COACHING STAFFS

New Toledo head coach Tim Beckman is once again looking to fill his new coaching staff as he has lost one of his assistants to the NFL.According to the Toledo Blade, defensive line coach Patrick Graham has left the school for an undetermined position with the New England Patriots. Graham was hired hired by Toledo on January 8.Jan. 8 of this year, mind you.According to the Boston Globe, Graham could be named as a general and generic “coaching assistant” with the Patriots.Playing a role in Graham’s decision is the fact that he has extensive ties to the New England area; Graham played football at Yale and was born and raised in Connecticut.WRITER’S NOTE: Thanks to the alert reader who pointed out our original title for this posting implied that the New England Patriots were solely responsible for the raiding of collegiate coaching staffs. We have since tweaked it to reflect that it’s the whole of the NFL doing the raiding.
