BC QB Commit Switches to Mich St.

Joe Boisture, a top quarterbacking prospect for the class of 2010, has switched his commitment from Boston College to the home state Michigan State Spartans.

“I started to think that Boston might be too far, that I didn’t want to be that far away from my family,” Boisture told Rivals.com. “This wasn’t the first time I’ve had second thoughts. So my dad reached out to the Michigan State coaches, I went there the other day and worked out and they offered me. They told me that they were taking only one quarterback this year and it was first come first serve so I had to jump on it. It was a tough decision because I loved Boston College and the coaches, but it was just too far away.”

Boston College already secured the commitment of 25-year-old quarterback Dave Shinskie, but the highly ranked Boisture would have been one of the top recruits for new Boston College coach Frank Spaziani.

Boisture’s signing is another prominent in-state signing for Michigan State and head coach Mark Dantonio.
