Take that, Houston Nutt!
Army head coach Rich Ellerson formally announced the newest members of the Black Knights’ football program and the numbers are enough to make over-signer extraordinaire Houston Nutt incredibly jealous.
19 incoming freshman and 38 players from the U.S. Military Prep School will join the football team, making for a combined 57 member recruiting class.
“We’re encouraged by the group of young men that we’re bringing into the program,” Ellerson said. “We inherited a great group coming from the Prep School, and then we were able to add to that group a couple handfuls of players directly from high school. We were able to come into (the recruiting process) at the 11th hour, and despite all the disruption, put together a very competitive class.”
The group includes 23 players on offense, 31 players on defense and three specialists.
