The only returning starter on BYU’s offensive line will likely be lost for an extended period time after breaking his hand, the Salt Lake Tribune is reporting.
Matt Reynolds suffered a broken bone in his left hand at some point during practice today. Afterwards, an X-ray revealed a break.
According to the Tribune, the lineman will see a specialist either later on today or tomorrow.
At that time, a more definitive length of absence will be determined, although the paper wrote that Reynolds “could be out several weeks”.
Without Reynolds in the lineup, the projected starting line would have a combined 10 college starts between them.
That statistic doesn’t bode well for the Cougars’ season-opening game in the new Texas Stadium versus No. 3 Oklahoma.
