Tide back latest to tear ACL

Alabama suffered its first serious injury of their 2009 summer camp as running back Jeramie Griffin went down with an ACL tear.

Obviously, he will miss the entire season, and surgery will be performed at some point in the near future.

“Non-contact injury the night we went inside on the turf,” head coach coach Nick Saban said according to the Tuscaloosa News. “I don’t think the turf had anything to do with it, it’s just one of those things. It’s too bad.”

Last season, the sophomore had six carries for 39 yards in two games.
