UNC’s offensive line depth takes yet another hit

Just a short while ago, we noted that backup guard Kevin Bryant is no longer a member of the North Carolina football program.

Now, the Tar Heels taken yet another blow to their depth along the offensive line as the school announced via a press release that backup left tackle Carl Gaskins has a torn ACL and will miss the 2009 season.

Gaskins suffered the injury to his left knee during yesterday’s morning practice.

Last year, Gaskins played in five games. This year, the sophomore was fighting for playing time at left tackle.

In other Tar Heel injury news, senior tight end Ryan Taylor of Winston-Salem, N.C., sprained the MCL in his right knee during Tuesday’s practice. He is expected to be out of action for approximately one month.
