‘Noles-'Canes far from a sellout

From the 80’s through the 90’s and into the early part of this decade, Miami-Florida State was not only one of the top rivalries in college football, but one of the best in all of sports.

As both programs and stumbled a bit, however, some of the shine has been taken off the Sunshine State showdown.

Exhibit A? Ticket sales for this season’s game.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the game is not close to being sold out and plenty of tickets are available.

The combination of the decline of the program, the economy, plus the game being on Labor Day seems to have created a situation where seats may remain available right up through the start of the game.

The Sentinel also lays out their five reasons why the game isn’t a sellout. We’d tend to think No. 1 is the overwhelming factor.
