Battle of the QB transfers settled in the ‘Ville

North Carolina State transfer Justin Burke has been in a super flyweight -- junior bantamweight? -- battle with junior college transfer Adam Froman for the starting quarterback job at Louisville throughout the offseason and into training camp.

Fortunately for all involved, referee Steve Kragthorpe has stopped the fight before anyone else got hurt.

According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Kragthorpe announced today following practice that Burke is his starting quarterback.

Froman is suffering from a muscle tear in his back, and will not resume throwing for another eight days.

Given the fact that the Cardinals season opener is eleven days from now, it makes perfect sense that Burke would be elevated to the top spot. For the time being at least.
