Tebow’s HS coach: ‘He’ll be ready to go’

Even as both Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow have done their best to downplay the issues surrounding the quarterback’s back, it’s still a hot topic in Gainesville and across the vast expanses of the Internet.

Tebow was limited during practice last week because of what was described as a sore back, but earlier this week returned to full-speed and contact during the sessions. Still, rumors are persisting that there may be more to the back issue than what is being revealed publicly.

With that in mind, the Orlando Sentinel went to Tebow’s high school coach, Craig Howard, for additional information on the QB’s “condition”. The coach, who remains in close contact with Tebow, seems to confirm that whatever is going on with the Heisman winner is much ado about nothing.

He’ll be ready to go,” Howard said. “That guy’s tougher than nails.”

Regardless of what is said by any and all of the parties involved, Tebow’s very visible status as a face of college football will ensure this issue -- and these rumors -- lingers well into the season.
