‘We’ve Got Questions’ -- Week 1

Since the overly anal NCAA has finally loosened up and made it possible for both teams to wear the jersey of their choice -- as long as they contrast with each other -- which one of Oregon’s numerous uniform combos would look worst while prancing on Boise State’s SmurfTurf on Thursday night? (There are probably multiple correct answers.) Who else is checking to see if their TV set has a switch that makes the screen go to black-n-white?

Since there is no line on the Charleston Southern-Florida game (yes, don’t believe what you may have heard previously, there is no such thing as a 73-point spread, at least not one that you can actually wager on), how about we take a shot at establishing an over/under on the number of snaps Tim Tebow takes versus the Bucs? How does 28.5 sound? The guy who does “Predictions 101" says to take the under, so you’re all over the over, right?

Is Pete Carroll the greediest coach in college football history? Remember the hissy fit he threw at the Mark Sanchez “I’m going pro” press conference? Did he really need the New York Jets’ starting quarterback, who has already earned his degree, to return to school? If we are to believe Carroll’s ridiculously loaded depth chart, isn’t it enough to have two quarterbacks supposedly better than Mitch Mustain, who was 8-0 as a starter at Arkansas in 2006? He needed three?

Has anyone posted an online poll to see who the most hated SEC coach is? Or is that too politically incorrect? Seriously, can any other conference or even region match the way Nick Saban, Les Miles, Steve Spurrier, Bobby Petrino and, of course, Lane Kiffin can stir up emotions with nothing more than a look? Did I leave anybody out?

After inheriting (or should we say re-inheriting) a Kansas State squad that no longer includes the services of quarterback Josh Freeman, will Bill Synder consider installing one of those newfangled “Wildcat” packages? And if so, what would he call it? Do you think he’d get on the horn with Mike Stoops to discuss?
