The roller coaster ride that is the condition of Sam Bradford‘s throwing shoulder continued this evening as the Oklahoma quarterback has ruled out surgery to repair the damage.
And the damage, Bradford confirmed, is a third-degree sprain of the shoulder. The worst kind. The one that normally requires a medical procedure to repair.
Instead, Bradford has his sights set on a 2-4 week timetable in which he hopes to return.
“It feels a lot better,” Bradford said according to the Daily Oklahoman. “Hopefully it can keep progressing like this.
“It’s just a matter of getting it healed and getting back out there.”
Bradford also leaned on Eli Manning for advice on how to rehab the injury, although Manning’s only claim to medical fame is coming back from a second-degree sprain of the shoulder during the Giants’ Super Bowl run.
Based on the grade-three diagnosis, and at first blush, it seems that the reigning Heisman winner might be pushing himself to get back on the field a little too soon.
