Irish player gets LeGarrette’d

In addition to the officiating -- and, well, ya know, the loss -- Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis was not happy with the actions of some of the Michigan players this past Saturday.

Specifically, Weis suggested that at least one of his players was punched by a member of the Wolverines during the game.

And, sure enough, the coach is correct based on pretty tangible video evidence. Pay attention to the lower left of the screen at the end of the play.

Yep, that’s Michigan’s Jonas Mouton delivering a right uppercut to the chin of Notre Dame center Eric Olsen.

Aside from the fact that it wasn’t a right cross, and the absence of a post-punch meltdown, is there much difference in what Mouton did as compared to... oh, I don’t know... say, LeGarrette Blount?
