The Vest, Pryor responding to critics

In the six days following Ohio State’s loss to Southern Cal, Jim Tressel and his program have been under more fire than just about at any point in his tenure.

Tressel was catching flack for his conservative play calling, while sophomore quarterback Terrelle Pryor was the subject of questions regarding his ability as a passer.

In the first quarter against Toledo, it looks as if both are making it a point to prove their critics wrong.

Pryor has thrown two touchdown passes -- including a 76-yarder -- and Tressel seems to be throwing flipping a subtle one-finger salute from behind his game plan to fans and media who had the audacity to question him.

(And, of course, as I’m typing this, Pryor throws an ill-advised pick...)

Some would say, “yeah, but it’s against a MAC team”, but it’s the same MAC team that went into Boulder and put a whooping on Colorado. Of course, some would come back with, “yeah, but it was Colorado”, but still.

The point being, the Buckeyes are answering their critics in resounding fashion. Thus far.

[Sheepish Writer’s Edit: Toledo actually whooped Colorado in the Great State of Ohio. The management apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.]
