Sprained knee could keep Nittany’s Lee out of Iowa game

No. 5 Penn State faces their first real “test” of the season this Saturday against Iowa, and could be forced to do it without on of their top defensive players.

Linebacker Sean Lee suffered a sprained knee this past weekend and, according to his father, his status for the Big Ten opener is currently up in the air.

I think it’s sprained,” Lee’s father, Craig, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “He is getting evaluated by the doctor today. I haven’t talked to him.

“I have no idea if he can play or not [Saturday]. I saw him yesterday and he was walking around. He didn’t have any swelling, but he was sore

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Lee could miss up to two weeks, but could return sooner if his knee responds favorably to rehab.

Lee, who suffered a torn ACL in his right knee last season, was named the Big Ten’s defensive player of the week for his performance in the win over Temple.
