SEC’s leading rusher had knee drained

Tennessee’s running back Montario Hardesty, leading the SEC with just over 121 yards a game, had fluid drained from his knee earlier this week, the Knoxville News Sentinel is reporting.

The senior has been limited in practice throughout the week, but still expects to play against Auburn this Saturday.

Hardesty has battled injury throughout his Volunteer career, and the fact that he’s still playing and still producing on the field has left one of his freshman teammates amazed.

“I don’t know if we can curse or not,” fellow RB David Oku said. “But I’m sure surprised. For a man to go through three knee surgeries, that is a helluva guy to be doing something like this still. Most people would give up. I ask him everyday ‘How the hell do you do it?’ ”
