Cowboys RB has ‘potentially serious shoulder injury’

According to a report in this morning’s Tulsa World, and citing unnamed sources, Oklahoma State running back Jeremy Smith has suffered an aggravation of a shoulder injury and may require season-ending surgery to repair the damage.

The shoulder issue apparently stems from an injury Smith suffered during his senior season in high school last year. The freshman may have aggravated the injury during practice this week.

The school has yet to confirm or deny an injury to the back.

Last week against Grambling State, Smith carried 15 times for 160 yards. It was the most rushing yards ever by a freshman, which is saying something from a school which produced Barry Sanders.
