Injury KOs Red Raiders quarterback

Taylor Potts, the nation’s leading passer, was knocked out of action late in the first half of Texas Tech’s game against New Mexico. He has yet to return.

(And, the answer is no, there’s no word on whether Lobos head coach Mike Locksley was responsible for knocking him out of the game.)

Potts was attended to on the sidelines by Tech trainers. Their attention seemed to be focused on the head and neck area of the starting QB.

He was replaced by Stephen Sheffield, who, as of this posting, had completed 13 of 15 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns.

With a little over a minute left in the third quarter, Tech is rolling the Lobos 35-7.
