Longtime UK starting corner ruled out

After starting the last 43 games at cornerback for Kentucky, Trevard Lindley has officially been ruled out of Saturday’s game at South Carolina.

Lindley, who sustained an ankle injury in the loss to Alabama, will be replaced by true freshman Martavius Neloms.

“That’s life in football,” head coach Rich Brooks said. “Neloms came in and did a really good job against Alabama in his first extended action when he was being tested. I think this is a great opportunity for not only him, but for the other guys behind him that haven’t seen a lot of action. We’re going to check our depth out real quick here and find out what we’re made of.”

The corner concerns don’t end with Lindley, however.

Fellow starter Paul Warford missed the Tide game and could not finish practice on Tuesday as he recovers from a strained quadriceps muscle and is day-to-day.
