Spikes has questionable groin

Earlier this week, it was looking like a groin injury that kept Brandon Spikes out of most of the Arkansas game last weekend would probably not keep him out of action this weekend.

Now? Not so much.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Florida linebacker is questionable as to whether he will be on the field to face Mississippi State. Head coach Urban Meyer said Spikes is “50-50" to play.

The Sentinel reports that Spikes has been somewhat limited throughout practice this week. Additionally, Spikes is still dealing with a lingering Achilles injury that’s been nagging the All-American throughout the early portion of the season.

Ryan Stamper would replace Spikes in the starting lineup.
