Clemson shocks Hurricanes in OT

Well, so much for anti-upset Saturday.

While No. 1 Alabama was able to stave off unranked Tennessee, No. 8 Miami is not able to say the same thing. And not just because the ‘Canes weren’t playing the Vols.

On the strength of Kyle Parker‘s passing (326 yards) and running back C.J. Spiller‘s all-purpose play ( a school-record 310 total yards), Clemson stunned Miami in Coral Gables 40-37 in overtime.

It was only the second time since 1985 when Miami’s lost when they’ve scored at least 35 points.

In the extra session, Matt Bosher hit a 22-yard field goal to give the ‘Canes a 37-34 lead. The lack of a touchdown came back to bite the ‘Canes as Parker hit 26 yards out on the next possession for the game winner.

The loss deals a crippling blow to Miami’s chances of winning the ACC’s Coastal division. Clemson, on the other hand, is now tied atop the Atlantic division with Boston College.
