This has not been the best of years for Ohio State offensive lineman Mike Adams.
The tackle missed the first two games of the season due to a suspension, but then started the next four upon his reinstatement.
The strides Adams was making in those games was halted, however, when he suffered a knee injury in practice last week. Now, Adams has been shut down for at least the next two weeks after undergoing surgery to repair what’s believed to be a cartilage tear in the knee.
“Mike has worked extremely hard, and the tackle position is a very delicate position, because you get out on an island quite a bit,” tight ends coach John Peterson said according to the Columbus Dispatch. “It’s a difficult position, and I think he’s progressed as a young tackle as well as anybody.”
Jim Cordle started last week, but Peterson said both Cordle and Andrew Miller will play at left tackle Saturday against New Mexico State.
