Pinched nerve derailed UT’s title hopes

As the debate continues to rage -- probably into this post as well -- as to how Colt McCoy‘s injury affected the outcome of the BcS title game, we now have official confirmation as to the specific nature of the injury.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, the Longhorns quarterback suffered a pinched nerve in his right (throwing) shoulder early on in the loss to Alabama.

A school spokesman told the paper that McCoy has been told to rest the shoulder rather than go through some type of rehab.

Armed with this knowledge, feel free to continue bashing each other upside the cyber head over the what if’s attached to this game. It’s quite fun to observe, actually. I do need more popcorn, though.
