Men of Troy set to swipe top recruit from Buckeyes?

On the field in 2009, Southern Cal took care of Ohio State in a much-hyped early-season showdown.

On the recruiting trail in 2010, the same end result could be in the offing for the services of a much-hyped high schooler.

After weeks of being considered the front-runner for one of the top recruits in the country -- we were told by two separate sources over the weekend that he was headed for Columbus -- reports are beginning to emerge that Seantrel Henderson will likely wind up with the Trojans.

A source close to the situation tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer that it’s expected Henderson will announce Wednesday that he’s signing with USC.

Henderson, who is the No. 1 or No. 2 player in the entire country according to most of the major recruiting services, is also reportedly considering Notre Dame, Minnesota, Florida and Miami (Fla.).

Even with this latest report -- and our report, for that matter -- no one outside of Henderson’s inner circle really knows what way the offensive lineman may or may not be leaning. And no one will likely know for certain until Henderson’s televised announcement tomorrow afternoon.
