Dhani Jones ‘not cool with’ RichRod

And the hits just on coming for embattled -- is it OK to call him embattle again? What about beleaguered? -- Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez.

On the same day ESPN reported NCAA officials had recently questioned West Virginia regarding possible rule violations during his time in Morgantown, Rodriguez is on the receiving end of yet another public tongue-lashing from a former member of the UM football program.

Speaking on Jim Rome is Burning by way of AOL Fanhouse, Dhani Jones made it clear yet again that he’s not a fan of the current head coach of his alma mater.

“I’m not cool with him,” Jones, a member of UM’s 1997 national title team, said of Rodriguez. “I’m at my wits end right now. I mean, you can’t come in and explain that you’re going to do all this, and then your first year? Terrible. Second year? Alright -- but then terrible. You have to be able to change something if you’re really going to make a statement. You have to do it within the first two years, and this is his third.”

At 8-16 overall and, perhaps most importantly, an abysmal 3-13 in Big Ten play, there’s no doubt that Rodriguez is on the hottest of hot seats heading into the 2010. It doesn’t help his cause in the least to have former players lashing out against the coach publicly and openly questioning whether or not he’s the right man for the job.

Then again... Hillbilly Karma, she’s a bitch. And so are her paybacks.
