Richt not ready to pull QB trigger quite yet

For those looking for head coach Mark Richt to name a tentative No. 1 quarterback as Georgia exited spring practice, you’re going to have to wait a little while longer.

Richt was expected to release a post-spring depth chart at some point before the end of this week but, according to the Athens Banner-Herald, that’s not going to happen.

Instead, a new depth chart is not expected to be released until next week at the earliest. The Banner-Herald reports that player exit interviews have taken longer than expected, which is holding up the new chart’s release.

Statistically, Zach Mettenberger has seemingly enjoyed the better spring, but it’s uncertain how his arrest on alcohol charges and subsequent one-game suspension -- he’s already been ruled out for the opener -- will impact the competition. Aaron Murray entered spring ball as the favorite to win the job, while Logan Gray would seem to be a semi-long shot at this point in time.
