Suspended ‘Zona WR Dean moving on to Div. II

Shortly after Delashaun Dean was arrested on a weapons charge and indefinitely suspended by head coach Mike Stoops, it was reported that the wide receiver would likely be transferring from Arizona.

Saturday night, the wide receiver confirmed as much.

Speaking to the Arizona Daily Star, Dean said he spoke to Stoops last week and both agreed that a transfer would be best for all involved. Dean said he will likely move on to either Central Washington or Texas A&M-Kingsville, both Div. II schools.

“The people that I talked to, they all believe in second chances,” he said. “Things happen that you don’t really intend on happening. I didn’t plan on getting in trouble, if you can call it that.”

Dean was arrested early in the morning June 19 and charged with misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon.
