Is Hawaii in Masoli’s near future?

As a senior in high school, disgraced former Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was a member of the Honolulu St. Louis football team.

If a television report can be believed, a return to the islands could be in the offing for Masoli.

According to KHON-TV in Honolulu, and citing sources close to Masoli, the quarterback is interested in continuing his college career at the University of Hawaii. The school, the report states, has yet to reciprocate that interest, at least officially.

Masoli is reportedly two weeks away from meeting the requirements to graduate from Oregon; if the QB were to graduate and then move on to another school, he would be permitted to play immediately provided a waiver was granted by the NCAA.

Of course, there’s still the little matter of a legal issue hanging over his head in Eugene. Already on probation after pleading guilty to a burglary charge, he was charged in June with, among other misdemeanors, possession of marijuana, which led to his dismissal from the Ducks.

In addition to the reported interest in Hawaii, Masoli has also reportedly visited Louisiana Tech in the last month.
