Ga. Tech’s Robert Hall hit with one-game suspension

A June arrest will result in Georgia Tech’s Robert Hall missing a September game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting.

Head coach Paul Johnson announced at the ACC’s Media Kickoff Monday afternoon that Hall will be suspended for the season and conference opener against North Carolina State.

Hall was arrested on June 6 and charged with battery following an incident involving his girlfriend. The two were arguing and the verbal fireworks turned physical after Hall allegedly slammed the girlfriend -- a former Yellow Jackets basketball player -- into a door and a wall at their on-campus residence.

He was immediately suspended following the arrest.

Hall played in the first three games of the 2009 season before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
