N.C. St. picks up ‘Cuse transfer Carter

Nearly three months after being dismissed from Syracuse, E.J. Carter has found a new collegiate home.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the linebacker has enrolled at North Carolina State and is on the Wolpack’s roster. Per NCAA transfer rules, Carter will have to sit out the 2010 season and will be eligible to play for the Wolfpack in 2011.

Carter was dismissed from the Orange football program after missing a meeting with head coach Doug Marrone and a team function. The LB was also suspended in October of 2009 for violating unspecified team rules, but returned after the three-week suspension.

As a true freshman last season, Carter started eight and played in a total of ten games for Syracuse.
