Part-time Ute DL starter out with yet another injury

Lei Talamaivao has been bitten by the injury bug in each of the past two seasons. Unfortunately for the Utah defensive lineman, his luck on that front hasn’t changed.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Talamaivao is suffering from a knee injury and is out indefinitely.

The junior opened each of the last two seasons as the starter at defensive tackle, only to see the year derailed courtesy of an injury. In 2008, Talamaivao broke his leg in his first career start; in 2009, the tackle broke the same leg in the fourth game of the year.

Other than this latest injury is unrelated to the previous two, there’s no word on how this latest setback came about.

The Utes open summer camp on Thursday.
