When UCLA takes the field Sept. 4 to open the season against Kansas State, they’ll do so without a player who’s started the past 18 games for the Bruins.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, offensive tackle Mike Harris has been suspended for the opener. Of course, the only reason given for the suspension was the ubiquitous “violation of teams rules.”
“It’s important that he understand why we have rules and that there are consequences to everyone’s actions,” head coach Rick Neuheisel said.
Harris started all 13 games in 2009 as a redshirt sophomore, and the final five games of the 2008 season.
