Hoping to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to a Div. 1-AA school Saturday, Ole Miss will now have to do so minus one of their starting offensive linemen.
As announced on their official website, head coach Houston Nutt has dismissed junior offensive lineman Rishaw Johnson from the Rebels. The reason, of course, is an unspecified violation of team rules.
Johnson was one of the Rebels’ starting guard in the season-opening loss to Jacksonville State, and started four games as well in 2009. All told, he played in ten games during his time in Oxford.
In addition to Johnson’s suspension, Nutt announced that sophomore linebacker Brandon Sanders has been indefinitely suspended. Sanders played in the opener, one of 12 games he’s played for the Rebels since redshirting in 2008.
