Through one half, Miami-Pitt is musn’t see TV

Cheesy NBC plug aside, the first half of tonight’s matchup between Miami and Pitt has been noticeably less than stellar. Miami leads 10-0, but the big story lines have been the sloppiness of both sides and the poor play of former Heisman hopefuls Jacory Harris and Dion Lewis.

Harris has managed the game well, but threw a pair of interceptions, including a bad throw intended for Travis Benjamin in the endzone early in the first half. Lewis has been nonexistent figuratively and, in a way, literally.

Throughout much of Pitt’s final drive of the first half, the former Big East Offensive Player of the Year was on the sidelines as backup Ray Graham carried the load for the Panthers. Lewis has four carries for a paltry six yards.

Also noticeably absent is Pitt wide receiver Jon(athan) Baldwin, who doesn’t have a single catch.

If Lewis, Harris, or even Baldwin is going to get back in the Heisman discussion ever again, they’ll need a Heisman-like second half.
