Albeit high above the field, Dantonio to return Saturday

Less than two weeks after suffering a heart attack, Mark Dantonio is returning to Michigan State.

The Spartans head coach will be at practice this week as his team prepares for the team’s Big Ten opener against Wisconsin. He will take in the game with the Badgers from the coaches’ box, but did not get into the specifics of what his role will be either for the run-up or on game day.

I’m going to ease back into it as anyone would,” said Dantonio. “We don’t discuss injuries, so why discuss mine? I’m going to listen to my doctors and am going to ease back in and do something daily with football team.

Regardless of the workload, Dantonio, seemingly weary of the attention he’s gotten due to the health scare, said it’s""very important that our team focus on Wisconsin” and “take the focus away from Mark Dantonio.”

Dantonio suffered the heart attack a few hours after the Spartans thrilling double-overtime win over Notre Dame Sept. 18. He was released from the hospital two days after having a stent inserted in an artery near his heart, and visited with his team late last week.
